Volunteer Opportunity: Volunteer Chief Volunteer Officer / Chief of Staff

The Animal Cause, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) Christian animal welfare organization. Our mission is to save shelter animals and unite animal advocates to reform animal welfare, raise awareness, and create social change. We offer volunteer services to help save more animals while examining and supporting efforts to solve the causes behind the shelter population. We partner with and support other organizations in these efforts. Our vision is to reform animal welfare by becoming a strong, united, and impactful presence.
We are 100% volunteer-based(no one at The Animal Cause, Inc. earns a salary).
To celebrate our tenth anniversary, we are adding a new program in 2024 to our existing portfolio of programs and service offerings! This new program in and of itself will add long-term complexities and resource demands; therefore, we are recruiting an army of volunteers to help us with this endeavor!
We are looking for a six-month commitment for this role as you'll be part of a TEAM of Volunteer Officers. This allows for collaboration, and workload sharing (so no set schedule and a sharing of ideas). This commitment helps to ensure the success of this endeavor and will help you see the results of your labor; the saving of animal lives. There is no other experience like it on earth!
Requirements
A six-month commitment is required for this role
At least 5 years of experience in volunteer management
At least 3 years of recruiting, engagement, and retainment experience specific to volunteers
Role Description
These are remote volunteer roles for Chief Volunteer Officers for The Animal Cause, Inc. The Chief Volunteer Officers will be responsible for managing aspects of the Organization's volunteer program(s), training volunteers via Volunteer Coordinators, and all strategic planning concerning volunteers. The Chief Volunteer Officers will work closely with the executive board and collaborate with other organizations to develop and execute a comprehensive strategy to achieve our mission to reform animal welfare.

Responsibilities:
- Responsible for TAC, Inc.’s compliance with all regulatory and compliance requirements pertaining to volunteer recruitment.
- Ensuring that all volunteer personnel maintain the culture of the Organization to ensure that we develop trust in a fully virtual work environment.
- Ensuring the compliance of established policies and procedures.
- Manage oversight of the hiring and onboarding process of new volunteers.
- Oversee training and retention of volunteers.
- Ensuring volunteer job pipelines are always full of new candidates.
- Ensuring the Organization is seeking new platforms to find new volunteers.
- Ensuring job postings are kept fresh and updated, to invite new volunteers.
- Ensuring Volunteers have the tools, resources, and information they need to be successful in their roles.

- Strong training and mentoring skills
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Excellent Interpersonal Skills and Communication Skills
- Experience with Community Outreach and Engagement
- Ability to work independently and remotely without direct supervision
- Ability to plan, organize, and deliver programs and events
- Creativity and problem-solving skills
- Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Communications, or a related field is preferred
