Volunteer Opportunity: Volunteer Graphic Designer

The Animal Cause, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) Christian animal welfare organization. Our mission is to save shelter animals and unite animal advocates to reform animal welfare, raise awareness and create social change. We offer volunteer services to help save more animals while examining and supporting efforts to solve the causes behind the shelter population. We partner with and support other organizations in these efforts. Our vision is to reform animal welfare by becoming a strong, united, and impactful presence.
We are 100% volunteer-based(no one at The Animal Cause, Inc. earns a salary).
To celebrate our ten year anniversary, we are adding a new program in 2024 to our existing portfolio of programs and service offerings! This new program in and of itself will add long term complexities and resource demands; therefore, we are recruiting an army of volunteers to help us with this endeavor!!
Requirements
We are asking for a six month commitment for this role. We are building a Team of Graphic Designers to handle the constant needs of our new programs launch, social media demands and more. Volunteers can create their own schedule as long as they meet deadlines. This Team shares the workload so this commitment is easy for everyone and ensures the success of our program launches.
In addition, we are looking for individuals who can commit around 15-20 hours per week initially; which should taper off after priority steps have been completed.
Role Description
This is a remote volunteer role for an Animal Welfare Volunteer Graphic Designer. The Graphic Designer will create graphics, logo designs, and branding materials for The Animal Cause, Inc. The Graphic Designer will work closely with the organization’s marketing and social media teams.

At this time, we do not accept court-ordered service hours nor track community service hours.

Responsibilities
- Create eye-catching and compelling visual materials that effectively convey our mission and bring our vision to life; in inspiring, exciting, and educational ways.
- Assist in maintaining and evolving our brand identity through consistent use of design elements, colors, and typography across all materials.
- Able to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment; incorporating changes into designs to create the finished collateral.
- Participate in project-planning meetings during the design process with team members to determine the schedule, layout, specifications, and final product.
- Deliver designs within agreed-upon timelines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Stay up-to-date on current graphic and digital design trends, including awareness on accessibility standards.
Qualifications
- At least 5 years experience with Graphic Design, Logo Design, and Branding
- Ability to work independently and remotely
- Creativity and attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience in animal welfare advocacy is a plus
- Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design or related field is a plus
