Meet Cali!
Cali’s story: Cali is estimated to be around 5-6 years old according to the shelter paperwork. She is heartworm negative and spayed. She came into the shelter from a cruelty case but is not exhibiting any signs of traumatization. Unfortunately she contracted the severe upper respiratory infection from the other sick dogs from the shelter in San Antonio. She went through a 10 day treatment of Doxycycline. She did an additional round of Prednisone as the Doxy didn't quite do the trick. She's now free of any signs of illness and thriving! I call her Cali-Wag as she’s a wiggle butt, dancing as she runs around. It will take some time for her to feel comfortable enough to let you pet her, otherwise she’ll jet off when trying to touch her. She’s very friendly and playful! She has yet to learn to play with toys or frisbees. She loves attention and being brushed. She knows her name and does obey simple commands. She has been socialized, house trained and well cared for while in my care. She's been through "basic" training via GoodPup. She is hilarious! She's calm for a minute and then she bolts. Look how SHINY she is! She's a healthy playful girl ready for a loving home. She loves to cuddle next to me while on the couch and falls asleep feeling safe. She will need additional training to establish good behaviors and boundaries once she becomes familiar with her new family and environment. She's in Central Texas. Transport can be arranged even for an out of state adopter or foster. Can you help Cali prepare for her new life? If you can foster or financially sponsor her please contact: [email protected] If you'd like to make a tax deductible donation to help support Cali specifically or any other foster animals you can donate via PayPal or see our Fundraisers Page for more options. |
