The Journey: Departing Georgetown for Bell CountyThis week marked a significant shift in our geography and our spirit. After a season of waiting, we pulled up stakes and left Georgetown on the 2nd, heading North into Bell County.
The road can be a lonely place, especially when carrying the weight of recent "witnessing"—from the tragedy of a lost dog on the interstate to the small, jarring moments like a bird strike on the windshield. We began this week feeling "not special" and very small, but the Father used the miles to remind us of our value in His eyes.
Scriptural Highlights: The Apple of His EyeDuring this transition, the Word was a shield around the bus. The Father opened our eyes to these specific anchors:

• Psalm 17:8: "Keep me as the apple of your eye; hide me in the shadow of your wings." This became our literal "road prayer." As we navigated the highway toward Bell County, we leaned into the truth that we are cherished and protected, even when the world feels indifferent.
• Psalm 16:6: "The lines have fallen for me in pleasant places; indeed, I have a beautiful inheritance." Even as we looked for a safe place to park and rest, we stood on the promise that our "territory" is defined by God, not by city ordinances or stressful circumstances.
• Lamentations 3:22-23: We clung to the truth that "The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning." Every sunrise in a new county was a reminder that the previous day's trauma did not have the final say.

The Mission: Defending the WeakAs we moved into Bell County, our focus remained on Psalm 82:3-4. The "Seven" on board this bus are not just animals; they are a sacred trust. Moving them safely is our "Due Diligence," and every mile north was a step toward their future restoration.
Current ReflectionsLeaving Georgetown was a step of faith. We are learning that being "in exile" on the road is often where God speaks the loudest. We are small, we are "not special" in the world's eyes, but we are covered by the Everlasting Arms.
The journey continues. We are moving forward, one county at a time, hidden in the shadow of His wings.

The Journey: Temple ➔ Waco ➔ GeorgetownThis was a week of miles and major milestones. We began in Temple, moved through Waco on the 7th, and finally settled back in Georgetown on the 8th. While the scenery changed, the mission remained the same: navigating the road while stewarding the lives on board.
The Milestone: The $500 "Victory"After six or seven attempts at various registration offices since December, we finally faced the final hurdle for the bus. Despite providing legitimate, long-standing paperwork—including our IRS Letter of Determination and Texas Comptroller Sales Tax Exemption—the local office denied our non-profit status based on a misunderstanding of labeling.
Even with a Certificate of Fact proving our good standing since 2016, we were forced to title the bus in my name to get it done. It was an unexpected $500 out-of-pocket expense, but as of this week, the bus is officially titled and registered.
Scriptural Highlights: The "Odd Peace"The most remarkable part of this week wasn't the paperwork—it was the internal shift. Despite the frustration at the registration office and the financial hit, the Father provided a supernatural, "odd peace."

• Psalm 16 & 17: We prayed to be kept as the "apple of His eye," and He responded with the sign of a house finch on our mirror. We learned that "pleasant places" aren't always found in government offices, but in His presence.
• 1 Corinthians 2: While the world (and the registration office) didn't seem to "see" what we are doing, the Spirit gave us the discernment to stay calm and stay the course.
• Luke 24: We realized that even during the most frustrating hours at the counter, Jesus was walking with us on that "Emmaus Road," making sure the bus was finally legal and ready for the highway.

Stewardship & The Path AheadWe are now legally set to move! We are continuing to defend the weak and deliver the needy (Psalm 82:3-4). This week taught us that "due diligence" often comes with a price tag, but the Father’s provision is always enough to cover the cost.

The "Georgetown Exile" & The Power of WeaknessWe spent this past week anchored in Georgetown, and to be honest, it was a week of intense testing. Between navigating complex city ordinances and enduring multiple run-ins with local authorities, there were moments of deep fatigue and "angst."
However, the Father met us in that weakness. In a remarkable "double witness," both our private Bible study and the InTouch Ministries devotional landed on the exact same anchor:
"My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." (2 Corinthians 12:9-10)
We learned that when we are "at the end of our rope," we are actually in the best position for God to take the wheel.
Scriptural Highlights: The "Confirmation Loop"Throughout the week, the Word provided a consistent "GPS" for our spirit:

• The Shepherd’s Protection (Psalm 27): We were reminded that even when "armies encamp against us," the Lord is our stronghold. He "hides us in His shelter" in the day of trouble.
• The Moses Commission (Exodus 3-4): Much like Moses at the Burning Bush, we’ve been asking "What is the next step?" The Father reminded us to look at what is already in our hands—this bus and these animals—and use them as tools for His glory.
• The Vision from the Mountain (Deuteronomy 34): Like Moses on Mount Nebo, we are looking past the "Exile" of Georgetown toward the "Promised Land" of our future transport mission.

The Miracle: Fueled by Faith (and an Anonymous Angel!) 🚐🕊️Just as we were feeling the weight of the week, God moved in a mighty way. An "Anonymous Angel" provided a $1,000 donation via PayPal! This isn't just a gift; it is a direct answer to prayer and the "green light" we needed to shift from "survival mode" into "Active Mode."
The Next Play: Heading SouthWe are officially "shaking the dust" of Georgetown off our tires. We are heading south toward Pflugerville to prepare for a major milestone:

• Medical Stewardship (Monday, 4/27): All "Seven" of our residents are scheduled for full vaccinations and testing. We follow Proverbs 12:10—righteous care for the lives entrusted to us.
• Transport Services Launching Soon: With registration hurdles cleared and medical care booked, The Shepherd’s Ark will soon be offering transport services for rescues and independent adopters! We are currently finalizing pricing (navigating that $5.50/gal reality) to ensure we can stay on the highway where we belong.

A Final ThoughtWe have stopped walking by sight and started walking by faith. We’ve seen the "Everlasting Arms" (Deuteronomy 33:27) holding this bus together when we felt we were falling apart.
