The Animal Cause, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) Christian animal welfare organization. Our mission is to save shelter animals and unite animal advocates to reform animal welfare, raise awareness and create social change. We offer volunteer services to help save more animals while examining and supporting efforts to solve the causes behind the shelter population. We partner with and support other organizations in these efforts. Our vision is to reform animal welfare by becoming a strong, united, and impactful presence.
We are 100% volunteer-based(no one at The Animal Cause, Inc. earns a salary).
To celebrate our ten year anniversary, we are adding a new program in 2024 to our existing portfolio of programs and service offerings! This new program in and of itself will add long term complexities and resource demands; therefore, we are recruiting an army of volunteers to help us with this endeavor!!
Role Description
This is a remote volunteer role for a Nonprofit Grant Officer at The Animal Cause, Inc. The Nonprofit Grant Officer will be responsible for researching and identifying potential grants, preparing grant proposals, and ensuring that grant deadlines are met. Additionally this role will be responsible for grant administration, analytical skills, communication, and finance on a day-to-day basis. The Grant Officer will also support fundraising activities, prepare reports, manage grant application processes, and ensure compliance with regulatory and ethical standards.

Note: As this is a volunteer position, compensation will not be provided. You must be a United States citizen and at least 18 years of age to apply. At this time, we do not accept court-ordered service hours nor track community service hours. Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in nonprofit management, business, or a related field
- Experience in grant proposal writing and grant management
- Experience in grant administration and finance
- Excellent writing and communication skills
- Strong research and analytical skills
- Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
- Experience in animal welfare, nonprofit, or fundraising is a plus
- Grant writing or grant management certification is a plus
