Volunteer Opportunity: Volunteer Program Director

The Animal Cause, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) Christian animal welfare organization. Our mission is to save shelter animals and unite animal advocates to reform animal welfare, raise awareness and create social change. We offer volunteer services to help save more animals while examining and supporting efforts to solve the causes behind the shelter population. We partner with and support other organizations in these efforts. Our vision is to reform animal welfare by becoming a strong, united, and impactful presence.
We are 100% volunteer-based(no one at The Animal Cause, Inc. earns a salary).
To celebrate our ten year anniversary, we are adding a new program in 2024 to our existing portfolio of programs and service offerings! This new program in and of itself will add long term complexities and resource demands; therefore, we are recruiting an army of volunteers to help us with this endeavor!
Requirements
We are looking for a six month commitment for this role as there is no set schedule and you'll be a part of a Team. This commitment helps to ensure the success of our 2024 initiatives and will help you see the results of your labor; the saving of animal lives. There is no other experience like it on earth!
Role Description
This is a volunteer role for a Program Director. The Program Director will be responsible for leading, managing, and administering programs for The Animal Cause, Inc. The Program Director will work remotely and be expected to perform day-to-day tasks such as planning and overseeing programs, tracking and reporting program progress, monitoring budgets, managing program volunteers, organizing fundraising events and donation drives, and coordinating with other animal welfare organizations. The Director will develop strategies to achieve fundraising goals, increase awareness, and engage animal advocates. The Director will also be responsible for managing budgets, developing and maintaining relationships with donors, and creating and implementing planned giving and annual giving programs.

At this time we do not accept court-ordered service hours nor track community service hours. Volunteers must not have conflicting associations with similar non-profit organizations or other business related to animal welfare. - Experience in program leadership, management, and administration
- Understanding of animal welfare issues and passion for animal advocacy
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and remotely
- Strong organizational and planning skills
- Experience with fundraising and donation drives
- Experience with budget management and tracking program progress
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field
- Experience in philanthropy and fundraising
- Knowledge of planned giving, annual giving, and budgeting
- Ability to develop and execute fundraising campaigns
- Experience in donor cultivation and stewardship
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong strategic thinking and problem solving abilities
- Ability to work independently and remotely
- Experience in the animal welfare industry is a plus
- Bachelor's degree in Nonprofit Management, Business Administration, or related field
